KASIKORNBANK (KBank) has teamed with its business partner Shopee – a leading platform provider in Southeast Asia and Taiwan – in organizing an exclusive seminar under the Shopee University: Financial Edition program, a collaborative effort that aims to equip online operators with relevant knowledge, thus creating new business opportunities, providing them efficient sales channels and a greater chance to access funding sources for business expansion. Present at the event were Ms. Alisa Buakaew, Partnership Manager at Shopee Thailand, and Ms. Naweeya Wongkidakan, KBank Head of Innovative Business Management.
Given consumers’ changing online shopping behavior in line with the prevailing digital trend in the 'New Normal’ era in Thailand, business operators must be well-prepared and equip themselves with relevant knowledge and efficient online tools that will be instrumental in making their business thrive remarkably.
The seminar offered in-depth techniques on selling products and services via online platform. A team of gurus from Shopee was on hand to present these techniques to sellers along with an understanding of new features in order to maximize sales. These techniques include efficient product naming, the use of discount codes to close sales more easily, and store promotions to increase the number of followers and get money instantly when customers visit the stores. In addition, Ms. Pranit Wongkruesorn, who owns a successful handbag store called "8 Anglesshop" with more than 100,000 followers on Shopee, was invited to the seminar to share her experience. She said that she started her business because she likes handbags, and sold them on Shopee using various tools and features such as customer data collection and purchase history, which have helped her understand the customers’ needs, map out sales strategies, cut marketing costs and build product inventories more efficiently than before.
The seminar concluded with a talk titled "Upskill Digital Knowledge - Selling Online like a Pro", hosted by online guru Ms.Tuangporn Sunetar, Business Director PlusVenture & ITOPPLUS, who shed light on the latest online market trends, as well as techniques in handling new online tools and features on popular online platforms like Google, Facebook, LINE MyShop and YouTube. She also provided tips on boosting sales, building consumer loyalty, establishing effective online sales channels and managing online marketing budgets for the best worth and maximum target audience. Ms. Tuangporn advised that prices be included in the shopping ads, a practice which has gained traction over the past two years and is compatible with the Shopee platform. The benefit of such a technique is that upon searching, the photos and prices will immediately appear at the same time, allowing for quicker decision-making.
In addition to the knowledge gained from the seminar, KBank also offered funding support to Shopee merchants with active KBank accounts. These online operators will be able to request a long-term loan of up to 600,000 Baht, with a flexible installment payment plan in line with their capabilities. The seminar also showcased other activities to promote the sustainable growth of these ventures.
